We take a look at some fictional AI characters you know and love (robots, androids, holograms, artificial personalities of whatever form) and examine the ways they're treated by the human characters in their respective works. What rights do they have? Do they get the same respect as non-AI lifeforms? Why or why not? And most importantly, what lessons we can take as we think about our own near future?
