Patrick B. Sharp is Professor and Chair of Liberal Studies at California State University, Los Angeles. He is a lifelong fan of Star TrekStar Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and the Marvel Comics Universe (including the new stuff). He has written several articles and two monographs on science fiction, including Savage Perils: Racial Frontiers and Nuclear Apocalypse in American Culture (2007) and Darwinian Feminism in Early Science Fiction: Angels, Amazons and Women (forthcoming 2018). His co-edited anthologies include Practicing Science Fiction (2009) and Sisters of Tomorrow: The First Women of Science Fiction (2016), the latter of which won the 2017 Susan Koppelman Award for Best Anthology in Feminist Studies from the Popular Culture Association / American Culture Association.
